Birthday dinner for Jackson — with David, Jackson, Dayna and Brenden

The following is a note that David's good friend Lydia from Casa Nostra asked me to include.

"David was my dear friend. I am so thankful he was a part of my life.

David was such a good person. So caring and thoughtful, helpful and yes, funny.

I was not in very good shape when I came here but with the love and support of my family and friends, the staff here, and friends like David I am doing very well.

David knew we all loved him and we know he loved us. Thank you David for loving me, helping me and being my friend. I will miss you terribly.

Lydia"

I did not realize that David was Student Body President at U of W at the same time Jackson and I were studying architecture! Such a small world. I did not know David well but he was always warm, gentle and gracious . I will always love him for the happiness in Jackson's eyes.  May he rest in peace.

Will always love David. And also love the marriage between him and my Dad. Such a great couple.

A gift to my dads almost 30 years ago was a book of Pablo Neruda’s poems.

“Love knew then that it was called love.

And when I raised my eyes to your name

all at once your heart set my path.”

“El amor supo entonces que se llamaba amor.

Y cuando levanté mis ojos a tu nombre

tu corazón de pronto dispuso mi camino”

Love to you all, family.
