David's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of David Claude Weick, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, who passed away on April 25, 2025, at the age of 67. David was born on January 13, 1958, to Loraine Smith and Paul Weick, both of whom preceded him in death.
David was a man of deep passion and curiosity. A lover of nature, he found peace and solace in the outdoors, often immersing himself in the beauty of the world around him. He also had a special love for mystical stories, whether through books or video games, where he could explore new worlds and ideas. However, nothing brought David more joy than his love for dogs, and they were always a central part of his life. His heart was as big as his love for the furry companions who shared his home and adventures.
David was an amazing father to his four children and a loving grandfather to his four grandchildren:
Holly Weick, married to Sean Canton, and their daughter, Freya Canton.
Elizabeth Walter, married to Joshua Walter, and their children, Hunter, Maylee, and Hazel Walter.
Jonathan Weick, married to Conner Frank.
Miranda Weick, married to Barbara Retzer.
David’s family meant everything to him. He was a devoted and loving father and grandfather, always there with support, wisdom, and unconditional love. His family and friends will forever carry the memories of his kindness, his sense of humor, and his unwavering devotion.
David is deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in David’s name to Amber's Ark Pet Rescue in Ravenna, Ohio, an organization close to his heart. Donations can be made via Cash App $AmbersArk, PayPal AmbersArk or Zelle 330-341-9195.
A celebration of David’s life will be held on May 28th, 5:30 p.m. at the Goodyear Heights Metropark West Lodge. We invite friends and family to join us in honoring his memory and the profound impact he had on all of us.
David's legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
