David's obituary

David William Treiber, age 63, passed away March 5, 2024 in Tucson, AZ, surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Susie Treiber, a son, Dustin, a daughter, Holland Bagenstos (Travis), a granddaughter, Octavia and many loving family members, including his mother, Sandra Treiber.

David was born March 2, 1961 to Tom E. Treiber and Sandra D. Treiber in Douglas, AZ. He was the second of six children. After graduating from Douglas High School, David went to work for Magma Mining Company in Globe, AZ, where he met and married Susie. They moved to Las Vegas some years later where David worked for the Department of Energy at the Nevada Test Site. He eventually moved to Florence, AZ where he worked for the Arizona Department of Corrections as a key master and firearms safety instructor.

David grew up an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the White Mountains lakes casting for trout. His fantasy football nickname was “Gone Fishing.” We believe there must be fishing in heaven. We also hope he can help his beloved Arizona Cardinals get back on the winning track.

David loved music and playing the harmonica. He spent countless hours accompanying his fellow musicians and was always a hit at Karaoke night.

David was truly a kind and generous man who brought joy wherever he went. A true believer in Christ, David now rests in the arms of the angels. He is missed.

Services will be held Saturday, April 6 at 1 p.m. at Desert Sunset Funeral Home, 3081 W. Orange Grove Road, Tucson, AZ.
