I apologize again for the misunderstanding. I took down the posts I had put up. But that was the only picture of John swick killed on Oct 7. Look at gun violence memorial you will see his picture as being killed by gun violence.  The man does also resemble your father. Our david swick was shot in the face execution style and died on the scene. Immediately after paul williams was executed with a bullet in his temple.  They were killed at jj fish on 79th western oct 7. The cashier manager executed them because he hates homeless people. Again my apologies and my condolences for you david swick.

Share your sympathy. Send flowers from a local florist to Dave's family or funeral.
I worked with Dave back in the telephone sales days of the phonebook industry in Cedar Rapids. I’ll never forget some of the times we had especially my bachelor party playing home run derby. Rest in peace, my dear friend.
Marv and I knew Dave back in the day before he moved to Des Moines. He was a character to be around. He will be missed. Very sorry for your loss.

Prayers to you all. So sorry for your loss
I am so sorry to hear of Dave’s passing, we grew up together in Blairstown and had many basketball battles in each others driveway. I always considered Dave a friend and was so glad I reconnected with him a few years ago. He was a special and unique human being. I will miss him.

Cindy I remember Dave asking Tim for the hottest sauce he could make. Now I know why!

So sorry for your loss

So sorry for your loss. Prayers to all his family.

There was no one quite like Dave.  It was my blessing and curse that we first met at Yellow Book.  We became tight friends quickly, and then lived together for several of our younger years.   I will just say living together produced a few lapses in judgement.  This old quote reminds me of him: "A good friend will bail you out of jail, but a great friend will be sitting next to you saying damn that was fun."   Dave was a great and loyal friend.  The only thing I would miss from the old days were the frequent dog bites from Rocky (that dog came first in his life before any friends).  As Red would say "that dog doesn't know any better, so don't you dare discipline my dog".

The laughter and inappropriate conversations were many.  He called me frequently to remind me of the stupid things we did "back in the day".  I will miss his phone calls, but our memories will last a lifetime.

RIP Red!!

The stories are endless from working with Dave.  A few of my fave...  the time we put tape over his mouth piece of his phone and he couldn't figure out why nobody could hear him. He was starting to get super irritated.  I believe he was on the phone with Kristie when he discovered it and if I remember correctly she was awfully irritated with not being able to hear him.    The look on his face was priceless.  Or the time he called into the Jerry Cluver show about woodpeckers pecking his siding and I think said he was gonna shoot them.  So one night, Kyle and I had had a few drinks and made a PETA sign and stuck it in his yard.  Not sure he ever knew that was us.  There are so many stories.... you were definitely one of a kind.  Rest Easy Swick.
Oh the stories.  We worked together for 5 years and had a lot of races between the office and where ever we were staying at the time.  Red Lights ran in downtown Rochester, sidewalks driven on in Ames all to win the race and claim the title as #1.  We made it more competitive because we always said if either of us got a ticket the other one had to pay it, that way we were more willing to go all out.  Lots of other pranks on coworkers, memories and stories will never disappear.  Till we meet again #2....
