David's obituary
David, 23, of Athens, AL died on September 22, 2024. His loss was unexpected and his family is deeply saddened.
David was born on June 16, 2001 to David and Laura Stann in Reading, Pennsylvania. David attended Macungie Elementary School and Emmaus High School. His favorite things to do during his elementary years were building things with Lego’s and playing Minecraft. During high school he became an avid archer, loved to go fishing, fly drones, and had his own neighborhood “lawn mowing empire.” After graduating high school, David joined the Army. He completed Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, and was then stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky, as an Engineer with an occupation of Interior Electrician. While in the Army, David (aka Stann the Man with a Plan) earned an Associates Degree in Auto Mechanics, and had a busy “side gig” fixing cars of fellow soldiers and family members.
After completing four years in the military, David moved to Athens to attend University of Alabama, in which he majored in Mechanical Engineering. He became a member of the Space Hardware Club, and was passionate about flying a drone that he designed and printed himself.
Anyone who knew David, knew that he was kind, honest, and was a man of integrity. David’s family will miss him more than words can say.
David is survived by his parents, David and Laura Stann, and his sisters, Madeline, age 26, and Gillian, age 21.
