Ray's obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mr. David "Ray" Scharbrough, affectionately known as Ray, on October 24, 2024. Born on January 15, 1964, Ray was a beacon of love, compassion and unending care. His warm heart and caring nature left an indelible mark on everyone who had the good fortune of knowing him.
Ray leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by his wife, Patty Scharbrough, who was his pillar of strength. Their love story was one of mutual support, understanding, and profound affection. His legacy as a loving family man lives on in his children, David Scharbrough II and Sonya Scharbrough-Moore and her husband Dave Moore all of Richmond,Indiana, who remember him as a devoted father always ready to extend a helping hand.
Ray's bond with his grandchildren, Ariel, Myesha, and Jaya, was incredibly special. He was not just a grandfather but a mentor, guiding them with his wisdom. He will be deeply missed by his father Walter Scharbrough, his brother and sister-in-law Robert & Jeanie Scharbrough, nephews Corey and Jake Scharbrough all of New Castle,Indiana, his sister Penny Scharbrough, and His niece Toni Baldock, both of Connersville, Indiana, they too, will hold fond memories of Ray's caring nature and funny personality.
One of Ray's greatest accomplishments, which he held close to his heart, was being a father and grandfather. The values of care and compassion he instilled in his children and grandchildren are his most cherished legacy. His love and positivity will continue to guide and inspire his family and all who knew him.
Ray's life was a testament to the beauty of love and the strength of family bonds. His caring and loving personality enriched the lives of those around him, and his memory will serve as a beacon of love and compassion for years to come.
Ray was predeceased by his mother, Sandra Rolls, and his brother, Frankie "Toby" Scharbrough.
