Another reminder to cherish our family and friends....

In loving memory of David Samuelson, a dear, close friend of my daughter Carol, and to our family for nearly 30 years! He was our favorite Legal Eagle đź’ž(Lawyer)

I'm so happy to have had a wonderful visit with him on the phone not long ago...never dreaming it would be the last.

Vaya con Dios David....the world will be missing an awesome guy!

I am so sorry to see this. David was such a great, caring person. He was so nice to me and helped me through my divorce. It wasn't the legal thing it was more the way he helped me feel good about myself and what I was doing for my daughter. He always told me I was a good person and had a good heart. Well all I can say is, so was David. I will always remember him as a friend and a really good person.

I am so sorry to hear about David's passing,He was my attorney when I went through a divorce and I was just trying to locate him again when I came across this. He was an outstanding divorce attorney and I really liked him as a person always very friendly and out going and he helped me so much. He will be missed dearly and prayers for his family and friends and RIP David ...
We are all so very sorry and saddened by the news. Thinking of you, Jetaime, and all of Dave’s extended family.

David & Me

I first met David at the dance studio I worked at in Mountain View, CA. He was in an E.C. Swing class I was teaching. I could tell he was trying so hard, but still struggling a bit with the triple step. I encouraged him not to give up. Over the next several months, I saw him in classes more and more often. He later repeated to me something I used to tell my group classes, “Practice makes progress not perfection, nobody’s perfect.” He said it stuck with him and kept him coming back. He took every class I suggested, even Samba. I finally decided to ask him if he’d be interested in taking private lessons with me, which he was.
David became increasingly popular at the dance studio. For me and other female teachers, he helped solve the gender balance problem for our group classes. Since we always had more men sign up for ours classes than women, we knew if David signed up we’d have at least 3 other women sign up too, because he was in the class. He was very personable, warm, friendly and cheery. He knew he didn’t have it quite yet but he was determined to become an accomplished social dancer.
It became time to develop his dance knowledge for use in a social setting, having previously been restricted to classes and private lessons. So I encouraged him to come to a Saturday night party, which started with a drop-in class (that I was teaching) followed by a couple hours of open social dancing. He came the following Saturday, like I suggested, and I was surprised how disappointed I was that he had brought a date. She was tall and beautiful. I had seen her before in my Salsa group class, but it was a big class and I had them rotate partners frequently so I didn’t know they were acquainted. But that Saturday night it was obvious how close they were by the way they talked to each other, I could tell they were more than friends. So instead of staying and dancing with him that night like I had planned I rushed off as soon as class was over. I inquired about her the following week before a class and was relieved to find out she was his niece!
I didn’t know David had a crush on me until a loud, very disruptive man started frequenting my classes. He was always interrupting, blurting out what he wanted to learn instead, or making jokes. He was friendly and didn’t mean any harm but he definitely tested my patience. One day after class he says he has to talk to me in private. He was kind of like a big kid or somewhat of a harmless giant. So I am waiting to hear what he has to say, he looks around to make sure no one else is around and says is a hushed voice (which was still rather loud) “you know, Dave wants to take you out to dinner.” I look at him not really knowing what to say and wanting to escape this semi private conversation I seem to be in with this over imposing man. Then I see David walking by leaving the class and so I yell out “Hey, David! Is it true? Do you want to take me out to dinner?” The look on his face was priceless, kind of like he thought he was caught on candid camera. The more I think about it, I doubt David ever confided any such thing to this man, but that is how it began.
