Bob's obituary
David “Bob” Robert Thompson, 78, of Kitrell NC and formerly of Comfort, WV passed away at 10:00 am on November 13, 2021, at Durham Regional Hospital, NC, after a battle with a long time illness.
Bob was born on June 30, 1943, to Dolly Vivian Estep Thompson and Herbert Earl Thompson, in Madison, Boone, WV. He was preceded in death by his parents, two of his sisters: Wanda Diane Thompson Keffer and Katherine Kay Thompson Harkless, and his former wife/mother of his children, Myrtle Ellen Griffith Thompson.
He is survived by his
Wife: Nancy Gurgangus of Kittrell, NC.
His sister: Rita Carol Thompson O’scha of Chelyan, WV.
His daughters:
Bonnie Lynn Thompson McCallister of Comfort, WV.
Patricia Gail Thompson of St. Albans, WV.
His son: David Earl Thompson of Charleston, WV.
His Step-Daughter: Amy Tenbroek of Kittrell, NC.
His granddaughters:
Breauna Sierra McCallister of Comfort, WV
Carleigh Lynn Thompson of Comfort, WV
Kelsey Dawn Hinson Cummings of OH.
His grandsons:
Dakota Blake Robert McCallister of Comfort, WV.
Brandon Hayes of Morgantown, WV. and Nathaniel Bone of Kittrell, NC.
His great-granddaughter: Nevaeh Addison Hager of Ashford, WV.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great father. He was a retired Coal Miner from different mines in West Virginia. Not only that, but he preached in the church for several years in WV and in NC. He always liked to joke around, tease, and play small tricks on people. He loved to go four wheeler riding any chance he got to.
He was very much loved and will be very missed.
Bob was cremated and at the request of his wife, Nancy, no services are being held.
