David's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Rhael on October 17, 2023. He was an honorable man, dedicated husband, loving father, and caring grandfather, whose legacy will be remembered by all who knew him.
David was born in 1940 and led a life rich with experiences and accomplishments. A proud alumnus of Boston University, he received his degree in Business in 1962. His education served as the groundwork for his illustrious career and enabled him to provide for multiple generations of his family - an achievement he considered one of his greatest.
In 1970, he married the love of his life, Amanda Rhael, with whom he had three beloved children: Erika Whalen, Karl Rhael, and Sean Rhael. David was also blessed with four beautiful grandchildren, whose births between 2008 and 2023 brought him immense joy.
Outside of his professional achievements, David had a passion for music, with Jimmy Buffet being his favorite artist. He was also an ardent sports enthusiast, rooting for the Brooklyn Dodgers and NY Mets. David had a penchant for the New York Times crossword puzzles and frequently attended classical concerts. Among his favorite pastimes were reading and visiting Long Beach Island, one of his preferred vacation spots.
David held a soft spot for animals, a cause that was important to him. His wisdom lives on in the lessons he imparted: dedication and hard work. Above all, David believed that at the end of the day, family is the most important thing, a principle he embodied throughout his life.
David is survived by his wife, Amanda, his daughter Erika, his sons Karl and Sean, and his four grandchildren. His presence is already greatly missed by his loved ones, yet his memories continue to live on within their hearts.
Let us remember David Rhael for the remarkable man he was - a pillar of strength for his family, a dedicated professional, and a passionate man who understood the true value of family ties. His life was a true testament to his beliefs and values, and his spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him.
