It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of David Reed, who took his final breath peacefully on September 21, 2023 in Ackerman MS. Born on April 26, 1946 in Louisville MS, David’s vibrancy and tenacious spirit will remain alive in the hearts of those he left behind.

David was a devoted father fully dedicated to his family. He is survived by his daughter, Connie Olachia from Texas, and sons, David Edward Reed, John Reed, Timothy Reed, and Phillip Reed all from Ackerman, MS. Also six grandchildren that were the love of his life. David's love and wisdom will continue to guide his loved ones.

With a legacy of being a hard worker, David instilled strong work ethics in those around him. His indomitable spirit to persist in the face of adversity will always serve as an inspiration to his children.

The community and family of David convened to celebrate his life at the Porter Funeral Home. A viewing was held on September 28, 2023, at 5:00 PM followed by the funeral service on September 29, 2023, at 1:00 PM. The final farewell took place during a burial service at Murphy Creek Baptist Church on September 29, 2023, at 3:00 PM where he was laid to rest among those who had departed before him.

We remember David for his strength, resilience, and the love he had for his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and his memory will forever be cherished.
