David's obituary

April 14, 1960 – March 25, 2025

David “Dave” Robert Provencher, 64, passed away on March 25, 2025, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Born on April 14, 1960, in Manchester, New Hampshire, Dave was a self-starter from the very beginning. His first job delivering newspapers sparked a lifelong drive to work hard, stay motivated, and make the most of every opportunity.

In 1985, Dave moved to Maine—a place he quickly came to call home. He fell in love with its natural beauty, its people, and most especially, its food. A true foodie at heart, Dave was always the first to try a new restaurant, read the latest reviews, and recommend hidden gems to friends and family. His love of food and warm, engaging spirit made him a beloved figure in the local food and beverage scene.

Dave built a long and successful career in insurance and payroll benefits sales, where his determination, charm, and genuine care for others earned him the respect of clients and colleagues alike. But it was outside of work where Dave truly shined. A lifelong athlete and sports connoisseur, Dave played baseball and hockey well into adulthood. His love for sports extended to coaching, where he found joy and purpose mentoring the next generation with patience and passion.

When he wasn’t on the field or in the rink, you could find Dave enjoying life’s simpler pleasures—reading his Sunday papers, camping along the Saco River, or sharing a great meal with those he loved.

Above all, Dave cherished his family. He is survived by his former spouse of 28 years, Jean Ricciardelli, with whom he shared a deep and meaningful chapter of life. He also leaves behind his children, Cameron, Alyson, and Maddyson; and his siblings, Mike Provencher, Joyce Provencher, Teri Reed, and Lynn Tutino. Dave’s warmth, wisdom, and vibrant spirit will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life will be planned and shared later this summer.
