With heartfelt sorrow, we announce the departure of David James Pounds, who tragically passed away in a car accident on September 22, 2023. Born on March 8th, 1982, in Dayton, Washington, David's time on earth was a testament to a life lived with hard work and honesty at its core.

David grew up in Waitsburg, Washington, before eventually moving to South Dakota. He was a man of simple pleasures and found joy in nature. His favorite places to vacation were amidst the serenity of the great outdoors and spending time with his dog, Jackson. He cherished camping and was truly at peace when surrounded by the majesty of the mountains.

He is survived by his beloved daughters, Abigayle and Madison Pounds, who were his pride and joy, and their brothers, Danny and Colton Fries. He also leaves behind three brothers, Michael, Richard, and Jeff Pounds. His parents, Jerry and Mary Angela Pounds mourn the loss of a son who lived his life to the fullest and with integrity. He was predeceased by his sister, Angela Pounds, and his daughter, McKenzie Pounds, whom he steadfastly held in his heart, and the mother of his daughters, Lauren Fries.
