David's obituary

David Olugbenga Awonusi born on 23rd April 1954 in Owo, Ondo State, Nigeria. Born to Late Princess Marian Molashade Awonusi (nee Ademulegun) of the royalty lineage of Okenbaloye Upenmen Owo and late Pa Ijimakinwa Jacob Awonusi.
David was the only male child and the last born of six children. He attended African church grammar school Oka-Akoko, Ondo State 1970-1974. He worked briefly as a civil servant in Nigeria before proceeding to the United States of America where he studied cinematography at Columbia College North Hollywood in 1982.
He later changed his mind after a year in the program and went after his passion to study marketing. He transferred to Los Angeles City College to complete his general education from 1983-1985. He then attended California State University Los Angeles-graduated with Bachelors in Business Adminstration and majored in Marketing Management in 1988. He got naturalized in 1994 as a U.S Citizen.

He worked at Budget Rent-a-car in Van Nuys. He was fondly called “Reverend “ by his friends and people in the community due to his moral and spiritual stand. He relocated to Lancaster in the Antelope Valley area where he worked as a salesman for Toyota/Mitsubishi in 2002. When he decided to start his family, he quit his job as a salesman as he started, “I need to be available for my family as my job is very demanding with long hours away from home “.
In 2005, he was blessed with his lookalike, his one and only son Tolumakinwa.J Awonusi. He tried his luck with durable medical supplies and real estate but still found his way back to salesmanship with Antelope Valley Nissan Palmdale in 2013 but later found a better working relationship with Antelope Valley Ford-Mazda where he worked till his transition to glory.
