David's obituary
We regret to announce the passing David Odell after a lengthy illness. Dave was born Nov. 12, 1940 to Anson and Marcella Odell in Yonkers New York. He was a proud family member of the Odell heritage that came to this country from Bedfordshire England in 1635.
Dave was an outstanding baseball player throughout his formative years. He was so good that he was scouted by the pro’s while in high school. He was also an excellent archer who won many trophies during his lifetime, and made his own bow strings.
Dave graduated from Saunders Trade and Tech. high school, in 1958 and went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology from Columbia University.in N.Y.C. Dave worked in HVAC for a number of years in Westchester County N.Y.
He was a communicant of St. Marks Episcopal Church in Yonkers, and frequented other churches in N.Y.C. He enjoyed socializing in N.Y.C.. Dave sang in high school and loved music, especially the oldies. His favorite group was the Platters.
Dave was the oldest of a total of 4 siblings and a proud leader of the family after the death of his parents.
Dave leaves behind his 2 brothers Robert (Tamara) and Roy Odell, a sister Marcella ( Charles), Carroll, 2 nephews Charles Jr. and Steven ( Michelle) Carroll, and a niece Dana ( Ashley) Harron along with other grand-nieces and nephews.
Dave’s love of family, smile, and knowledge will be missed by all.
