David's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the departure of our beloved David "Davey" Nicholson, who left us too soon on March 12, 2024. Born on February 27, 1983, David, often affectionately known as Davey, embodied a loving, thoughtful, and jolly personality that left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
David was a beacon of hope and love. His life was marked by significant achievements including serving in the U.S. Army Reserves, earning a Bachelor's degree at EWU and dedicating his time to the Healing Lodge of Spokane as a youth counselor. More than a counselor, David was a guiding light and a mentor. He also played a significant role in the lives of his nine nieces and nephews, passing on his wisdom and love. He believed in living each moment fully, with no regrets. He was also a proud dog-dad to his two pups, Bennie & Deja who he treated more like his children.
David's legacy is one of compassion, tenderness, patience, kindness, and overcoming obstacles. He cared deeply about people and was intentional in being present with those he spent time with. David had an extraordinary talent for making others feel seen, valued, and important. His generous spirit was evident in his everyday actions and interactions.
David is survived by his parents, Dave & LuAnne Nicholson, his older sister, Heather, his younger brother Johnny, younger sister Grace, and his 9 nieces and nephews, Anthony, Michael, Adonyah, Shelbie, Johnny, Elijah, Aubrie, Mia & Baylie who will continue to honor his memory and keep his legacy alive. His loss leaves an irreplaceable void in our lives, but his influence will continue to be felt and his memory cherished forever. His was a life well lived, and we take solace in knowing that he is now at peace.
While we mourn the loss of Davey, we also celebrate his life and the countless ways he touched our hearts. His teachings, love, and laughter will forever remain in our hearts and memories. Rest in peace, David "Davey" Nicholson.
