David's obituary
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Mr. David Minney on May 12, 2025. Born on Jun 10, 1945, David lived a vibrant and fulfilling life. He was a beloved family man, remembered for his piercing wit and infectious humor, despite his often grumpy exterior. His life was marked by a deep love for his community and an enduring sense of humor.
A beloved Uncle and Brother, David is survived by his Grandchildren Travis Jackson, Robin Jackson, and Jacob Livingston,Jacques Livingston, and, Amber Jackson , his siblings, Della Richardson, Marvin Minney, Wayne Minney, and Barbara Reaves, and a host of niceces and nephews and great grandchildren. David was predeceased by his wife, Carrie Mae Minney, whom he married in 1964 and with whom he shared many happy years until her passing. He is also predeceased by his mother, Myrtle Wallace, his father, Samuel Payne, and his siblings, Earl Minney Sr., Emanuel Minney, Violet Minney, Janet Minney, Pearl Royal, Doris Minney, and Gloria Minney.
David's legacy was laughter and love. His life philosophy of not taking oneself too seriously and always being able to laugh at oneself is a gift he shared with everyone around him. Known as a strong pillar in his family, he held his family together during difficult times and his absence will be deeply felt by all especially during family gatherings. His laughter, love, and community building will forever be a part of his enduring legacy.
