Mr. David Johnstone McGill, died expectedly at 88 years old in Sun City, California after a long bout with cancer.

David is survived by his current wife Margie McGill of Sun City, CA, and his children, Paul David McGill of Old Lyme, CT, Lisa Ann McGill of Quincy, MA and the late Edward Duffy McGill, formerly of Randolph and Dorchester. David also leaves five grandchildren, Alyssa H. McGill Stiffler of Blackstone, MA, Hayley V. McGill and Ainsley D. McGill of Old Lyme, CT, Aengus D. McGill and Logan P. McGill of Mansfield, MA, and one great grandson, Camden Paul Stiffler of Blackstone, MA.

David was born on March 10, 1931 in Wellsley, MA. and graduated from Middlebury College in 1952, majoring in Economics. After serving in the Korean War driving tanks and in Intelligence, he married Ann C. Duffy of Randolph, MA and was a Vice President for John Hancock Mutual in Boston, MA until 1974. David worked independently as a Financial Consultant in 1974 until his retirement in 1996, settling in Sun City, California. David financed the Crystal Cathedral for the Rev. Robert Schuller in Garden Grove, CA, the largest glass building in the world at that time among his professional achievements.

A private family ceremony will be held at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Dorchester, MA, where David's remains will be buried along side his deceased son, Edward Duffy McGill.
