David's obituary
David Matthew Paul Wilson, 54, lost his valiant battle with esophageal cancer on June 25, 2024, in Harrisville, PA. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he lived in Canonsburg, Peters Township and Washington, PA where he graduated from Trinity High School, and he graduated with honors from Thiel College, Greenville, PA. David also earned a paralegal certification.
Married for 26 years to Carolyn Forbes, they raised their son James in Shippensburg and Greenville, PA. Loving brother to Mary Beth Gold of Washington, PA; Leigh Ann Frohnapfel (David) of Canonsburg, PA; and Joseph Wilson of Heidelberg, Germany. Beloved nephew of his Aunts Lee Wilson of North Strabane, PA; Martha Wilson of New York; and Uncle Tom Doty (Ruth) of Butler, PA. Uncle to Amy Polk Schott (Josh) of Washington, PA, a health professional who guided the treatment of his illness; Cory Gold of New York; Eric Frohnapfel of Cranberry; Jonathan and Alex Batselos; and Louis and Sam Patterson.
He was predeceased by his parents Carole and Eigie Wilson of Washington, PA and Uncle Ralph Wilson of Muse, PA, Uncle Tetsuo Yuasa of Tokyo, Japan. A devoted husband and father, David enjoyed coin collecting and lavished affection on his dog and cats over the years.
Stationed in Washington D.C. and Korea, David served in both the U.S. Army as a security and intelligence analyst and in the PA National Guard, achieving the rank of E4 SPC. He loved serving his country and remained a true patriot. David particularly enjoyed his youthful employment at Little Lake Theatre in Canonsburg.
A celebration of his life will be held at the chapel of Shenango Valley Cemetery, 53 College Ave., Greenville, PA 16125 at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, July 3 with Rev. David A. Dobi, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Greenville, officiating. Greenville VFW Honor Guard Post #3374 will render military honors at the conclusion of the service. Interment in Shenango Valley Cemetery.
Memorial donations to First Presbyterian Church, 323 Main Street, Greenville, PA 16125
or to Little Lake Theatre, 500 Lakeside Dr., Canonsburg PA 15317
may be made in lieu of flowers.
