David's obituary
Born youngest of four children to parents Jean and Donald MacKenzie on October 29, 1948, in Vancouver he grew up in Nelson BC. He moved to Ottawa at age 18 and after some years he moved back to Vancouver.
David was predeceased by his parents and sister Susan. His survivors he leaves behind are wife Brigida, daughter Sarah, sister Jane (Husband Len), brother Donald (Wife Sandra), nieces Bonnie and Joelle (Husband Daniel) and nephews Jeff (Wife Laura) and Craig (Wife Angelene).
David spent most of his career working in sales and marketing, ending in machinery parts and retired at Leavitt Machinery where he worked until the last weeks of his life as he so enjoyed.
Known for his love of fast cars and his strong personality to sell to people over the phone, his interests included travelling with his family, dancing to 70s music and watching sports with his many friends at the Cat and Fiddle pub. He was most happy driving his red Mustang convertible down country roads blasting Elvis and Paul Simon.
He spent the last two years of his life battling his lung cancer at the BC Cancer Agency like the strong fighter he was.
David was a generous and caring friend, loving husband, and the most supportive father. For all wishing to attend David's Celebration of Life, it will be held at Riverside Community Church in Poco on Jan. 18 at 2-4 pm.
