David's obituary
David Simon Lew
March 4, 1955 – May 8, 2025
David Simon Lew, 70, of San Ramon, passed away unexpectedly on May 8, 2025. Born and raised in San Francisco, David graduated from SF State University and built a long and accomplished career as a CPA. He proudly retired from his position as Controller for Kaiser Permanente in 2021. He was a loving father and a wonderful provider, always putting his family first.
David was devoted to his family and passionate about road trips, especially to the State and National Parks. He loved Motown, a great meal, well-handling cars, driving, and a good spreadsheet. He was known for having a bowl of cereal at 8pm, even after a full dinner. A skilled handyman, he was always ready to lend a hand on any project. He passed down his knack for problem-solving, planning, and spreadsheets to his daughters, who are forever grateful. David brought quiet strength and care to everything he did.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Lew; daughters, Stephanie (David) Veilleux and Christine Lew; granddaughter, Claire Veilleux; mother, Marian Lew; sisters, Sharon (Robert) Spence and Elaine (Sheldon) Lew; and many loving relatives and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Sim Lew; nephew, Robby Spence; and in-laws Randy Pong and Diana Jew.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
