Our paths first crossed roughly 30 years ago. We were both aspiring artists. One in art, as a Post Modern Cartoon Expressionist, the other in music, as a Musician and Producer. Dave had learned of my carpentry abilities. I jumped at the opportunity when he asked if I could help him out with a couple of frames. I was living in Ft. Lauderdale at the time and had no car. He picked me up and we cruised down '95 back to his house listening to jazz, soul and hip hop. It was so great to meet his family who was more than welcoming. His studio had sketches & drawings everywhere. Masterpieces with historical and spiritual references that the entire world would one day embrace and appreciate. David's original innate style of expressionism went far beyond anything we had ever seen. It was unparalleled. Prolific. The significant, extensive research and thought that went into every creative and design. Fast forward to the exciting opening of his store in Wynwood. It was such a nice pleasure to meet his wife Brenna. He was surrounded by so many enduring friends. I remember him telling me that he was "just getting started". David's creativity and generosity was absolutely endless. May his timeless contributions of expression through art and life continue to inspire and enlighten future generations to come. Cheers to you my amazing friend, Thank you for being such a beautiful soul. Be blessed forever.
