David's obituary

David Charles Kremer, Jr. (1970 – 2023) walked fully healed into God’s arms on June 26, 2023. He demonstrated tremendous strength and love to his family and friends even in his final days.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, David attended Lindsey Wilson College where he played baseball and served as Student Body President as a Senior. He graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor of Accountancy, and worked in business and accounting throughout his career.

David met and married his wife, Sarah, in 2005. He loved Sarah beautifully, and he demonstrated that love tirelessly throughout their marriage. David cherished his two daughters, McKenzie and Addie. He found immense pleasure in watching them play soccer, letting them win at board games, and spoiling them at every opportunity. He often dreamed of walking his daughters down the aisle on their wedding day, and beamed with pride while escorting McKenzie in 2021. He savored time with his son, Jake, whether it was in a deer stand, on a bass boat, mowing yards together, or coaching Jake’s little league teams.

He consistently placed others before himself (unless others interrupted a St. Louis Cardinals game), and his caring intuition created lasting connections with everyone he encountered. He was happiest surrounded by family and friends, and he found peace and comfort in their presence.

David is survived by his wife, Sarah; children McKenzie Berti (Jacob), Jake, and Addie; parents Connie & David; sister Becki, all of Mt. Juliet; his best friend and closest cousin Kelley Schaub of St. Louis; mother-in-law Debbie Franklin of Mt. Juliet; father-in-law David Franklin of Chattanooga; brother-in-law Marshall Franklin (Ashley) of Knoxville; and many nieces and nephews.

As you remember David, remember his faith - a faith that never wavered even when challenged by brain cancer fourteen years ago. David's faith fueled his strength and determination to confront the challenges of his diagnosis and to manifest his love for Sarah, McKenzie, Jake, Addie, family and friends until the end. And he was always sure to wear his “God’s Got This” bracelet daily - but more than just an accessory, it was truly how he lived each day.

The family appreciates everyone who sent messages, delivered food, or lifted prayers throughout the years and especially in recent weeks. Your thoughtfulness sustained them. David chose to continue serving others even in his death by donating his body to the Genesis Legacy Whole Body Donation Foundation for research and learning.

The family would like to thank the members of Shiloh Baptist Church for their love and faithful prayers over the years and also express their gratitude to the doctors and staff at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital for their care through the years and to Alive Hospice for their compassion.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Providence Church in Mt. Juliet, Sunday, July 2nd beginning at 2:00 p.m. In honor of David’s love for the St. Louis Cardinals, please join us in wearing red and white.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Kremer children for their future education at https://everloved.com/life-of… , or to Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in David’s memory at https://www.vicc.org/giving.
