David's obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David Kostus, a beloved son, nephew, and cousin, on August 9, 2023. Born on May 27, 1978, David was a beacon of love and generosity to his family and friends. His contagious laugh and warm smile will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

David is survived by his mother, Mary Kostus, his aunts, Maureen Gibson and Katherine Molitoris, his uncle, Jerome Kostus, and his cousins, Jessica Gibson, Michael Molitoris, Roger Gibson, Robert Molitoris, Richard Molitoris, and Joseph Molitoris. He was predeceased by his Uncle, Joseph Kostus.

A proud Rutgers-New Brunswick alumnus, David graduated with a BA in Philosophy in 2000. The pursuit of knowledge was a lifelong endeavor for him, and he furthered his education with a Doctorate of Law from Fordham University School of Law in 2003.

David was a man of many passions. He loved Korean food and was a dedicated fan of the TV show, 'Top Chef'. David was also a Marvel movie enthusiast, and he derived great enjoyment from the strategic game of chess. He was an avid supporter of the Rutgers sports teams, and his favorite performances to watch included the groundbreaking musical, 'Hamilton'.

David found pleasure in reading, cycling, and indulging in the serenity of beach vacations. His love for local dining led him to enjoy his favorite local spot, Tacoria. As a lover of all animals and especially cats, David's compassionate heart also extended to underprivileged people.

His advocacy for equal rights made him a beacon of justice and fairness in his community. David's willingness to aid anyone in need is a testament to his generosity and the love he had for others. One of David's proudest accomplishments was completing a triathlon in Long Branch, New Jersey.

David leaves behind a legacy of caring and generosity. Always ready to lend a hand, his influence and kindness will remain in the hearts of those he touched. His love for life and his dedication to the wellbeing of others is an inspiration that will continue to guide all who knew him.

David Kostus was a generous friend, a dedicated family member, and a beacon of light in this world. He will be deeply missed, but his memory and the impact he left will forever be cherished.
