David's obituary
David was born on June 30th, 1983 in Walnut Creek, CA to David and Sue Johnson. David lived in Tracy until the age of 14 when his family relocated to Manteca, where Dave would go on to graduate from Manteca High School. In 2010, David moved to Southern California where he ultimately became a Mortgage Broker and where he met Jaime whom he married in 2018. They established their home in Ripton, CA before relocating to Tennessee in 2022.
David is survived by his wife Jaime; his four (4) children, Nathaniel (Nate) Vieira, Fletcher, Brooklyn, and Brielle Johnson, his parents, David and Sue; his brother Wally and Wally's wife Amber and their three children, Travis, Tyler, and Rylie; grandmother Betty Tyrell; in-laws Lee and Peggy Garispe, brothers-in-law Daniel, Mason and Luke Garispe, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends.
David was an entrepreneur at heart and together he and Jaime built three diverse businesses including residential care homes for developmentally disabled adults, several vacation rentals, and in 2022 an online children's clothing company named Fletch where they had plans to expand in the coming year. Dave was incredibly strong at researching business ideas, identifying growth strategies, and networking. Whereas the thought of making cold calls is terrifying to many, Dave did it regularly, and with results. His natural warmth, humor, and interest in others allowed him to reach just the right people who could offer advice and counsel. David was also a mortgage broker and held a real estate license.
Dave loved his family passionately and his children were his pride and joy. He also enjoyed nothing better than hanging out with those children, and other family and friends around the BBQ, a football game (especially a Dallas Cowboys game), UFC fights, or a bonfire. Dave loved motorcycle trips with his dad, brother, and various friends; guns and shooting; golf, working out, travel, and spicy food of all kinds - the hotter the better. For him, no meal was worth eating unless there was hot sauce on it.
To know Dave was to love him. He was a friend to everyone. He was kind hearted, never holding grudges or anger, and was generous with his time and resources. He had many friends, but there was always room in his heart for one more. He encouraged everyone to pursue their dreams through his own fearlessness. He was endlessly kind to his parents-in-law and brothers-in-law who considered him a son and brother.
In March 2024 Dave accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior and became passionate about seeing others receiving the free gift of salvation as well, especially the family and friends he loved so much. Dave's best qualities, his warmth, kindness, and generosity, shone even brighter after his encounter with Jesus. Dave's interest in sharing the Gospel was international and he was a part of a mission team preparing to go to Kenya in February.
