David will always bring a smile to everyone's mind as they remember special occasions shared with him.

Today we listened to stories about his driving.  I guess we all have those stories to share.  Let's just say mine involves a scary situation, David pulling a pistol out from behind his driver's seat in the truck and the two of us going into a home. Gathering and eventually taking over a laundromat on a Saturday doing close to 30 loads of laundry for a family that were staying at the Barton's for awhile.  David and guns just didn't go together. However, he kept us safe from the rottweiler inside. Mission accomplished and no harm to anyone or animal.

Kurn, you most  of all will have an endless source of memories to smile and reflect on.  The past few years have been a second chance to live life to it's fullest and not take it for granted. You and Dave did that on a daily basis.   May they carry you forward and always help you smile.   Love you-

I don’t think I ever saw Dave…
I don’t think I ever saw Dave angry or in a bad mood. What I can say is he always had a smile and a warm hug to give.  When I met my future husband and he invited me out to meet his friends Kurn and Dave and Jonathan everyone treated me as if I were family.  Sweet Kurn you have our deepest condolences. I hope we can get together soon. We love and miss you.
Dave was one of the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Always a smile, always laughing. His loss is vast. May his memory be eternal.

Dave was truly one of a kind!  Generous, smart, funny with a big heart.  If you ever saw him Sign you understood him as a person.  And if he ever fed you his biscuits and gravy you were truly blessed.  We will miss you Dave!

Dave's smile accompanied with bright, kind eyes greeted everyone who entered MCCGSL. No matter where he was in the room, what he was doing, or how well he knew you, he greeted all attendees with a warm look if not words. In my time as a member of that church I'll always remember how Dave was a genuine Christian who walked the walk and talked the talk.  Lifting up in prayer and holding close to my heart all who loved Dave Barton.
I can’t even begin to find the words. Thank you for allowing me into your heart and being apart of our beautiful extended family. Your dedication to your family, your friends, your work and your church was nothing short of amazing. You will forever be apart of my life and how you helped shape it.
Upon meeting him, you felt you were in the presence of a friend. He is missed.
I will miss you very much! You were a present from God, for Kurn! I enjoyed your signing songs at church.  You were always willing to help whenever asked!
