David's obituary

Fred Ralph Hertzberg (the 3rd) was born on February 10, 1948 to Fred and Lila. In his 40s, he legally changed his name to David John.
David grew up in Fircrest near Tacoma, WA and graduated from Wilson High School. David was known to his friends and classmates as "Fritz".  His family owned a book binding business.
David grew up and attended Pacific Luthern University and Biola University.

He was married in the late 1970s. They had one daughter. After their marriage ended, they went their separate ways. Regrettably, David never maintained a relationship with his daughter, Rebecca.

David aspired to be a Police Officer and attended the Police Academy in SeaTac, WA. He found a career long profession in Public School Security with a short stint as a Reserve Police Officer with Normandy Park Police.

David was an avid motorcyclist, bass and guitar player, gun collector but what really caught his heart was Jesus. He spent his entire adulthood devoting his life to sharing his love for Jesus and God's love for others.
David was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and sister, Lynne.
David fell asleep on earth and woke up in Heaven on Thursday, June 5, 2025. He leaves behind many loving devoted friends.
