Personal note from De'Netra -To My Dad

Although the physical body no longer remains, my heart is filled with memories that life allowed us to gain. I know I gained my biggest angel when God brought you home and just as you watched over me on earth I know Heaven will allow you to cover us all strong. You were always the protector and life of the party and I smile knowing you lived your life with no regrets on your favorite Harley. We will all miss you and the tears will take time to stop yet I know you are in a place that provides things this world could not.

As a grandfather, you made sure you were always more present and no matter what you may feel you left undone we know you are still present. So many things about you I could laugh or just shake my head because at the end of the day all I could say was "yeah that's my dad". So unapologetic in life and your choices that your memory plays in my head at the craziest times when I'm making choices. I hear the things you would tell me and teach me to be strong then I shed a tear knowing all communication will now be in the spirit from today on.

You are always around me reminding me your death is not separation it's simply moving on to the next stage of life when you are rewarded for all your dedication. The bodies we have are temporary but the heart can always be carried on and just as you built me, I will stand strong and know I am not alone.

My pops, my father, my daddy, my friend there's no doubt I will see you again. As tears fall I smile and then I wipe my face for you are embedded in me and now I must step up and ensure your memory is not erased.
My dad, my headache, my puzzle I could never solve, I accept you being at peace now so that you may watch over us all.

Love,
Your Kid- De'Netra
