David Allen Fitzgerald, 78 of Rockfield, KY by way of Kutztown, PA; passed away of natural causes on Friday March 27 at 5:05 PM in his home surrounded by his wife, 3 daughters and his 2 beloved cats.

David was born in Mohnton, Pa on June 20 1941, son of Earl Fitzgerald and Mary Fitzgerald (Cass). He is survived by his spouse, Doris E. M. Fitzgerald and his 3 daughters & 2 son-in-laws; Christie Fitzgerald-Dunlap & Jeff Dunlap, Lori Vaughan & Dave Vaughan & Melissa Fitzgerald, his grandkids, Brendan and Lauren and his two sisters; Susie McGovern and Barbara Spohn.

David Graduated from Reading Business Institute with an associate’s degree in accounting. David retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue in 2009, and moved from Kutztown, Pennsylvania to Rockfield, KY at retirement. David traveled all 50 states and after a lot of searching, found his dream home in Southwestern Kentucky where he spent the next 11 years. David took much pride in his home, planting an orchard of fruit trees and a Live Oak tree. He enjoyed waking up early to watch and photograph the morning sunrise. He absolutely adored his two Ragdoll cats, Sammie and Shadi! David had a true love for life.

Travel was a passion for David and besides traveling all 50 States, he traveled as far as Hong Kong and Africa and as close as Canada and Central America. His bucket list trip was a safari in Africa, which he achieved; taking his entire family to Kenya Africa on a 2-week adventure/safari in November of 2019, thus fulfilling his lifelong dream!

Because of his love of all people, David found great joy in teaching people about God's hope for mankind and the earth that will one day be a paradise.

David was a true individual and he will be deeply missed by family and friends!

A Memorial Service will be held at Browning Community Center on Aug 15.
