I met Myles when he was a fourth grader in Ms. Fay's class at Oakbrook.  Then I was lucky enough to have him as a 5th grade student and met his Mom and Margaret at the parent conference and was invited to Friday Night Happy Hour and this is when our bond happened.  He would have the Cheshire cat grin every Friday and as I passed he would say "Are you happy?"  "Only an hour"  "How many more hours?"  "What happens at...." or just wink.  I passed by him often on Fridays just to see what he would come up with!!  Whether it was in class, at someone's house on a Friday, A Gannon Celebration, Yosemite, touring the caves in Murphys, Sutter's Fort, Lake Berryessa, Lacey and Nick's wedding, or wherever then Myles and I always had a special bond.  I miss you buddy with your creativity, humor, artistic skills and all of your gifts like from shop class in middle school.  Your Mom, Dad, Lacey and Nick see and hear you in an owl form, but I see you soaring as a falcon or hawk soaring over us so gracefully and seeing everything just like My Side Of the Mountain book we read in 5th grade.  Thanks for taking care of all of us D. Myles.  I love you and miss you.

2023
Wasn't going to post anything else tonight, but DistroKid sent this cool image of a cassette box, based on the existing art. Throwback fun.

APOLOGIES FOR UGLY FORMATTING…
2023
APOLOGIES FOR UGLY FORMATTING. Hoping to find a way to add linefeeds. Myles had been working on writing, recording, mixing, and mastering music for a while. He discovered an organization called DistroKid that takes your recordings and publishes them to Spotify, YouTube Music, Amazon Music Unlimited, Pandora, and a dozen others. I have found the music on Spotify, YouTube, and Amazon for sure. There is a 4 week lead time, and today his third and last recordings were published to Spotify. I expect YouTube and others to follow shortly. Anyone who wants to listen to the progression he made over about 9 months, here’s some links. He also did artwork, and did wood burnings of early concept art. The picture in this post is One:01 with earlier song titles before he changed them, but I took that shot with a bunch of Christmas lights shining through the carvings. Anyway: a little more than 3 hours of Myles Music here: HOM on Spotify: One:01 https://open.spotify.com/albu… Two:02 https://open.spotify.com/albu… Three:03 https://open.spotify.com/albu… HOM on YouTube Music: One:01 https://www.youtube.com/playl… Two:02 https://www.youtube.com/playl…

2020, Owls of the Cypress
For a while, I found Myles's music on Spotify by searching for one of the song titles, "Owls of the Cypress". On Peggy's birthday in 2020, these two owls perched in our Cypress trees and had themselves a blast. Obviously that stuck in his head! I wish my camera had been able to deal with the low light a little better. But: here are the literal owls of the cypress!

I am hoping to post something…
I am hoping to post something a little cool tonight, but certainly will tomorrow. In the meantime, Myles and I are here, about to do something unwise that I do not recommend: the one chip challenge. That one stupid chip was blazing, painfully hot and we were miserable for two hours. Scorpion peppers on top of Carolina Reapers are "bad for you," I feel quite sure.

Once long ago, I was going to my mom and dad's for a visit and Myles wanted to go. Figured he could stow away by getting in my luggage :)
