David's obituary

David Eugene Brown, born April 17, 1953, to Harley Wayne Brown and Dorothy Lee Webb/Brown in Cheyenne, WY on the military base there. Harley was in the Navy and on a ship sailing to Japan when David was born. In an interesting side note, Harley was misinformed that he had a new baby daughter while at sea and didn’t find out until he landed stateside that he had a son. The family moved to Denver for a while until his brother Larry was born. Then they moved to Sterling, CO where David would live until 1966 when Harley was transferred to Phoenix, AZ. David Attended Phoenix schools from 6th grade through High School, graduating from West High School in Phoenix in 1971. He also received training in culinary arts while in high school and completed his training with awards and honors. As a young man, David worked as a cook in Phoenix and the valley of the sun. Later, David would learn the truck driving trade, cutting his teeth driving a Pretzel Delivery Truck in New York City! After a short time on the east coast, David returned to Phoenix where he would propose to his wife, Peggy Wacker/Brown/Sandoval, they would marry in Phoenix but soon move to Denver and settle in Dacono. They soon had a new daughter, Amanda and later a son Tommy. David worked as a truck driver mostly but attended community college and studied water treatment where he excelled. Additionally, David would work hauling water in the burgeoning, Colorado oil business and later own a business marketing pumps and plumbing equipment to the oil industry. David was highly intelligent but is remembered more for his sense of humor. He liked nothing more than to make everyone laugh. He also was known for his love of coffee. He was a loving husband and father, dedicated to his family, who lost his way to addiction, sadly, eventually costing him his marriage. At the end of his life, he lived in Boulder Manor, assisted living facility where he was liked by the staff and they enjoyed his sense of humor. He was sleeping there when it is believed he suffered a stroke. After a brief hospitalization, attended by his children and family, where he never really regained consciousness, he was returned to Boulder Manor where he passed peaceably, on September 22, 2019.
