Dave's obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Estok (Dave), who passed away on September 6 in West Kelowna, BC. Dave was born in Vancouver to Frank and Barbara Estok in July 1961. He graduated from Vancouver Technical Secondary School in 1979. David went on to have a full and colourful life. He started a family in 1984 when he married Louise. His children followed with the birth of his son Charles (Chuck) in 1985 and his daughter Racheal in 1987. He studied Criminology at Douglas College in 1985-1986 and had several careers throughout his life. Like the song Life Is A Highway, Dave was always moving from one destination to the next. As a passionate car enthusiast, Dave held many driving jobs including a tow truck driver, an armored truck driver for Loomis, a limo driver, and most currently a bus driver in Kelowna. In 2002, he was remarried to Shelly and they enjoyed several years together before parting ways. He also worked at a youth correctional facility in Burnaby before leaving in 2004 to teach English in South Korea alongside his brother Simon. Dave was also passionate about planes and he later went on to train as an aircraft maintenance engineer at BCIT and graduated from the program in 2009. He then worked in the oil and gas industry, which brought him to Alberta, and he travelled to many other places for his job, including Texas and Australia. He was a loving partner to his spouse of 12 years, Liza, as well as an amazing father and grandfather. In his spare time, he loved working on cars, spending time with his family and his partner Liza. Dave loved to go on tropical vacations and it was always time for a cold beer with friends. He didn’t take life too seriously and was always up for a good time and a laugh with the ones he loved. Dave is predeceased by his mum, Barbara. He is survived by his father, Frank, his brother, Simon, his children, Chuck and Racheal, his grandchildren, Arias, Ardun, and Akton, his spouse, Liza, and many other extended family and friends who love him.
May he rest in peace and forever in our hearts.
