David's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David Myers, an esteemed educator and an extremely cherished member of the Clovis community. Born on July 13, 1956, David embarked on his final journey from this mortal world on October 24, 2023 leaving behind a legacy that will continue to resonate for generations.
David was a kind, warm, and a personable soul who touched the lives of everyone he met. An avid fan of David Bowie's music, he appreciated the Post-Modern Nuevo Apocalyptic art and often found solace relaxing on the porch of his cabin, sipping his favorite Iced-Hibiscus Tea.
However, his true passion lay in the realms of mathematics and science. As an educator, he galvanized an entire community of students in Clovis, leaving behind a legacy of lifelong learners. He deeply cared about his family and his students and found immense satisfaction in enriching their lives through education.
David is survived by his son, Colter Myers, his son David Jr Myers, his daughter, Persephone Myers, his son-in-law, Kevin Hathaway, and his grandson, Addison Hathaway. Also mourning his loss is Katie, David's beloved dog who misses her human immensely.
David's loss is deeply felt by all those who knew him. He imparted valuable lessons not just in mathematics and science, but in kindness, humility and love. His life was a testament to the enduring value of education and the power of a caring heart. He will be greatly missed.
