Obituary
David L. “Surfer Dave” Eckelbarger, 74, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Carolina East Medical Center with his family at his side.
Born in Marion, Indiana on February 20, 1949 to the late Virgil & Betty (Arthur) Eckelbarger, Dave attended Mississinewa High School, where he earned his nickname after “surfing” the river on an orange surfboard that he had made in shop class.
