David's obituary

David Cope,  of Shasta Lake, CA, passed away on April 9, 2024. Born on March 6, 1944, in Junction City, AR, David recently turned 80.

He is survived by his wife of more than 30 years, Mary Cope (Hardison); his daughter Holly Cope-Lynn and son-in-law Jerry Lynn of Grand Coteau, LA;  his step-son T.J. Graber of Redding, CA; his grandson, Dylan Cope, of New Orleans, LA; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his father, David E. Cope, and his mother, Maybell Cope Livingston (Wingfield); his siblings, Don Cope, Corinne Gray, Lyda Burkett, and Linda Cooper; and his step-son, Shawn Graber.

David graduated from Jonesboro Hodge High School in Jonesboro, LA, where he played football. He retired from a life-long career in the oil and gas industry, and in his retirement, he enjoyed watching football, fishing, golfing, and gardening (especially tomatoes).

David will be remembered for his wit and humor and his ability to tell a great story. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
