So sorry to hear news of David’s passing. We shared many great memories of playing hockey at Franklin & Marshall. Unfortunately I found out too late to attend his memorial. My very best to Joanne and family.
I am so very sorry for your loss. You have my deepest condolences
Dear Joanne, Scott and Lesley…
I will forever remember David as the kind, loving and always gentle-teaching Granddad and wonderful Father-in-law that he was. May he rest in peace.
My sincere condolences to you,
Donna

I am so so sorry Joanne, Scott and Lesley on the loss of your beloved husband and father. Your family was such a huge part of my growing up years and we could not have been blessed with more loving, fun, kind, amazing neighbors as your family. “Mr DeFlavis” as I always called him as a kid has a special place in my heart. From all the ribbing he gave me as a Bruins fan to his always complete amazement  at why I chose to wear a purple “wet look” coat back in the day!! He was a sweet and funny man and he will be missed. My memories of so many great times with all of you, Daves shared birthdays with my mom, babysitting the 2 best kids ever, fun times shared together. Charlie and Daves plans to flood the backyard for a hockey rink. Lifelong memories of a life well lived. Rest in peace and paradise Dave and thank you for making our lives happier in so many ways.
David and I celebrated many mutual birthdays together. What wonderful neighbors and friends we all became!
Who could ever forget all of those beautiful, happy and loving, good times? I shall never forget David and Joanne and all of the happiness they brought to me, Charlie and our family.
To Joanne, Scott and Lesley and your families: Our hearts, our love, our prayers, our deepest condolences are with you.

Dave and all of you occupy a permanent and precious place in the lives of the Tirrell Family. Our formative years were spent in your daily company, in your loving friendship. I cannot understate the impact that Dave had on our lives by the example of his kind, warm, loving life.

From the day Dave first knocked on our door at Beatrice Avenue to ask to use our phone, through the years of babysitting the two most adorable kids on the planet ( Scott and Lesley: that’s you), to holidays, weddings, decades of laughter and conversations and times together, our lives were intertwined. We love you all.
We share your grief. We are forever grateful for the gift Dave’s life .
I was 13 years old when I met Dave and Joanne. I would go on to be a babysitter for Scott and Lesley! I grew up next-door to the DeFlavis family and that was a gift. I have so many treasured memories that include Dave and the DeFlavis family. Memories of our families sharing meals together, all playing in the backyard, hockey games cheering for our beloved Flyers and Bruins, Dave’s photography. And having Dave and Joanne at my wedding, which didn’t happen until I turned 50! It was a lifelong friendship. My husband Mick and I are surrounding Joanne, Scott, Lesley, and their families with love and prayers. May flights of angels sing him to his rest.
