David's obituary

David (Dave) Charles Peterson of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on June 23rd, 2025 at Nathan Adelson Hospice due to kidney failure.

Dave was born on April 4th, 1960 to Pete and Teolah (Eileen) Peterson in Montana. While attending high school, Dave was an honor student, a wrestler, and a football player. After he graduated from high school, he joined the U.S. Navy. Dave served his country for four years in the field of computer science.

Upon receiving an honorable discharge, Dave moved to Costa Mesa, California where he continued to work in the computer science industry. Shortly after he met Judy Caputo at a friend’s house. They hit it off while watching the Celtics versus Lakers game, and they started dating soon after. Dave and Judy married in Alta Dena, California in 1986.

Shortly after they moved to San Diego, California for Dave to work for CalTrans. Dave and Judy had three children: Jamie, Andrew and Alexandra (A.J.). They moved throughout San Diego as Dave worked for several companies and eventually became a project manager.

In 2022 Dave and Judy divorced amicably. Dave moved to North Carolina to be closer to his brother before later moving to Las Vegas to be closer to his favorite football team.

Dave’s hobbies included golfing, sailing, playing pool and darts, shooting practice, and enjoying watching sports. His favorite teams included the Celtics, the Raiders, and the Padres. His favorite foods included pudding, jello, ice cream, chili dogs, and any kind of meat he could grill.

He is survived by his step-mother (Jessie), ex-wife (Judy), his brother (Kent), his sister-in-law (Penny), his ex-brother-in-law (Jack), and his children (Jamie, Andrew and Alexandra).

He will be missed, especially his unique laugh.
