David's obituary
David Wayne Cade gained his heavenly wings on December 16, 2024, after a courageous hard-fought battle with cancer. He faced his journey with unmatched strength, courage, and grace, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience that will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
David was born on January 18, 1954, to Wardell and Lula Cade at Hoemako Hospital in Casa Grande, Arizona, and grew up in Eloy, AZ—a town he proudly called home. A proud graduate of Santa Cruz Valley Union High School, Class of 1971, David excelled as an All-Star football player and was a dedicated student who always shared a smile with others. His love of learning led him to continue his education at Arizona State University, paving the way for a life filled with motivation and endurance.
David served with distinction at the Eloy Police Department in the early 1980s, where he worked tirelessly to protect and uplift his small community. Later, he became an entrepreneur, founding Cade’s Landscaping in Yuma, AZ a successful business he ran until his final days.
Beyond his many accomplishments, David was a caring and giving man who treasured time with his family above all else. He also found joy in the little things, like riding his RZR on desert trails, traveling to new places, and cheering for his beloved Arizona Cardinals. His warm hugs, radiant smile, and infectious laughter had the power to light up any room, and his big heart made him unforgettable.
David’s legacy lives on through his children: Trina Masters, David Congress, David Cade Jr., Terrance Cade, Tremayne Cade, Terris Cade, Vanessa Sousa, Chris Kidd, and Rickey Kidd. He was a proud grandfather to 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and shared an unbreakable bond with his 12 siblings. Though his physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit will forever guide and inspire all who loved him.
I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun,
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done. — Helen Lowrie Marshall
