He was an avid fisherman and camper, often seen traveling to his favorite vacation spots near lakes, where he relished the tranquility and beauty of nature. His zest for life was evident in his philosophy: "Live today, for you might die tomorrow."

Among his many accomplishments, David was especially proud of his love and dedication to his country.
