David's obituary
David Charles Byrne, 61, peacefully passed on April 12, 2025, at UMass Memorial Neuro Trauma Center following a courageous battle post hemmoragic stroke.
Born on January 17, 1964, David was raised by his adoptive parents, Beatrice and Donald Byrne. He attended Ashland High, where he was a 1981 Football MVP. He went on to work various occupations with the most notable as an operator at Trimount Quarry for many years. Additionally, David was proud member of the Teamsters.
David is lovingly remembered by his wife, Maggie (Marjorie) Ann Byrne; his daughter, Geena Byrne; as well as his granddaughter, Eliza Maeve Haddad who brought much pride and joy to his life. He also leaves behind his biological mother, Jill Erickson, who he was able to reconnect with later in life.
A man of simple pleasures, David loved fishing, spending time at the beach, staying up to date on Boston sports and playing fetch with his family dogs. Music was David's medicine and often listening to legends such as Stevie Ray Vaughan.
"Life goes by so fast, You only want to do what you think is right, Close your eyes and then it's past. Story of my life" - Mike Ness, Social Distortion.
His humble nature and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on those who knew him. He truly would give you the shirt off his back.
In honor of David, a celebration of life will be held later this summer aboard Bud N' Mary's Miss Islandmorada, formerly known as Miss Tradewinds, a lifelong heartfelt memory and inspiration to remember him by with loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Divided Sky Foundation for those seeking a nonjudgmental approach to recovery or the MSPCA for all animals in need to honor David.
May the long time sun shine upon you, all love surround you, and the pure light within you guide your way on.
