David Martin, 54, of Goose Creek, SC passed away peacefully on September 17, 2023, surrounded by his family and loved ones. David grew up in Goose Creek and graduated from Stratford High School. He retired from the State of South Carolina where he worked at SCDC and The Citadel. He was affectionately known as “Big Country” and in the latter part of his career loved supporting and working with the Cadets. David loved University of South Carolina Football, his friends and spending time with his daughter, Lucas Milling Martin. David will be dearly missed and always remembered by his fiancé , Christine Stevens, his mother Jacquelyn’s Martin, and his daughter Lucas. David was predeceased by his father, Bruce Martin and his sister Keri. He is survived by his siblings Brian Martin (Kathy); Danny Martin (Stephanie); Brad Martin (Jena); John Martin and Kimberly Vinson. A memorial service will be held at McCalister-Smith  869 St. James  Avenue, Goose Creek, SC 29445 on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11:30 a.m.
