David's obituary
On September 6, 2025, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, David Alan Bouchie, age 66, passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior. Surrounded by family, he left this world with the same quiet strength and humility that marked his life.
Born in Vincennes, Indiana, on October 6, 1958, to William Curtis and Betty Bouchie, Dave grew up with a gentle spirit and a natural drive to compete. He thoroughly enjoyed his career as a Radiologic Technologist and over the years earned the Rad Tech Award of the Year four times. He especially loved mentoring students and was a clear favorite among them -- known for his patience and personality. He had a passion for cars, staying active, and enjoying great food. You could always count on his perfectly timed (dry) humor followed by that incredible smile. But Dave’s greatest legacy is the selfless love he graciously poured into his family and friends.
He is survived by his adoring wife of 18 years, Vanessa, and their families, including his children Lindsey (James) Paten, Lee (Adrian) Bouchie, and Jennifer (Jon) Melton; her children Andrea McGrue and Joshua (Kristin) Wyatt; and their 12 cherished grandchildren, Davis, Sawyer, Ava, Griffin, Liam, Reid, Madison, Olivia, Isaiah, Nolan, Jacob, and Maxwell; his siblings, Debbie Dyehouse, William Bouchie and Scott (Diane) Bouchie. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Betty, sister, Judith, his aunt, Beverly and stepdaughter, Jessica.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on October 24, 2025 at 10:00 am at Crossroads Christian Church Chapel in Newburgh, Indiana. To honor Dave’s love for sneakers, the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Kicks 4 Kids, a nonprofit that provides quality shoes to children in need.
Dave’s steady faith revealed courage and beautiful grace as he endured life’s storms. He loved the verse from Zephaniah 3:17: “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” That same joy radiated from Dave—he treasured time spent with people, and you always knew he genuinely delighted in your presence. While our hearts ache at this profound loss, we rejoice that the fullness of the promise is now fulfilled: God rejoices over Dave with singing.
