David T. Bird, son of Carl Bird and M. Jane Wise, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019 following a brief illness. Dave was born September 29, 1956 in Pekin, Illinois but spent most of his childhood in Simsbury, Connecticut. He received his BA from Illinois Wesleyan University and embarked on his career as a medical underwriter with The Hartford. Dave returned to Illinois in the early 90s where he worked for Allstate, having just recently retired. Besides his parents, he leaves his daughter, Heather of Bolingbrook, IL; his brother, Marty and partner Laila of South Windsor, CT; his sister, Carolyn Melrose and her husband John, of Canton, CT; and several nieces and nephews, Sarah-Jean Duprey and Daniel, Ian, and Grace Melrose. Burial will take place in Harwich, MA at the convenience of the family.
