David's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David Bevan on February 2, 2024. Born January 2, 1951, David lived a life rich in experiences and filled with love for family, food, travel, and service to his community.
David is survived by his children, Tamara and Brock Bevan, his cherished grandson, Joaquin Bevan, his brother, John Bevan, and his nephews, Brian, Daniel, and Eryck Bevan, and niece, Trisha Mulqueeney. He was predeceased by his dear sister, Carolyn Bevan.
A man of varied interests and boundless curiosity, David had an affinity for Tasty cakes and cheese steaks, and an unashamed love for Mountain Dew. He was passionate about his carbon footprint and strived everyday to recycle or repurpose everything that he could . David also held a deep appreciation for museums and shared this with his loved ones . Brock and I remember many trips to museums and local historic attractions of any kind.
He loved games like chess and backgammon and we spent many hours as children playing these games with dad . To him, the best form of exercise was riding his bike on Kelly Drive, and he had a special fondness for local spots such as Fairmount Park and Morris Arboretum.
Dad was a devoted father and grandfather . He was highly intelligent, staunchly determined, and kind. He continually taught those around him to slow down and savour the everyday things in life. His love for travel, golf and food was only surpassed by the adoration he had for his grandson, Joaquin.
David leaves behind a powerful legacy of kindness. Ever ready to lend a hand, he selflessly gave of his time to his family and his apartment community. Many will greatly miss his constant willingness to help others.
His memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved him and found inspiration in the life he led. May his life lessons and his kind spirit continue to be the guideposts in our lives. Rest in Peace, David Bevan. You will never be forgotten.
