My dad died this week, and although we all had time to consider the possibility in the abstract, no one expected it to happen this quickly. Although there were causes for concern medically, all the news was ambiguous, and much of it reassuring. No one was prepared for this. I’m an only child, in graduate school, with no particular savings to deal with something like this. Even the cost of basics like transportation and cremation itself are significant. We’re hoping to give him what he wanted and any help is appreciated.
