Skeeter's obituary
David Allen Skinner (Skeeter), age 41, of Spotsylvania, VA, passed away on January 5th, 2026. He was born on November 6th, 1984, in Fredericksburg, VA. Skeeter was a graduate of Massaponax High School. He established himself as a skilled carpenter, working alongside his father (David Skinner) for over 20 years. A trade where his talent was evident in every piece he created.
Known for his loving and caring nature, Skeeter was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to help others. His life was a testament to the virtues of kindness and selflessness. In his personal time, Skeeter found joy in the simple pleasures of life such as enjoying a cold one, spending time with his dogs; Nahla and Kukla, cooking, and expressing his creativeness through decorating and woodwork. He also enjoyed watching his favorite sports team, the Dallas Cowboys. His daily conversations with his best friend and cousin, Ray Drury, were a reflection of the deep connection he had with his family.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his family: his father, David Skinner; his mother, Sherry (Sugie) Mastin-Skinner; his daughters, Haleigh (Hunter) and Natalie Skinner; his grandson, Bowen Wade Losh; his sisters, Jessica (Willie) and Shelby (Steven) Skinner; his nephew, Austin James Benson; his grandmothers, Shirley Skinner and Joan Bare; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. His departure was preceded by his grandaddy, Alvin Skinner Sr.; his uncle, Bryan (Butch) Atkins; and his cousins, Justin Peyton and Michael Skinner.
The Found and Sons Funeral Home of Culpeper, VA, has been entrusted with the Cremation Service. A Celebration of Life for Skeeter will be held Saturday, January 17th, 2026 from 12pm-3pm at Craig’s Baptist Church Community Life Center, 14120 W. Catharpin Road Spotsylvania, VA 22551. Skeeter's gentle spirit and generous heart will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
