Knowing your love for David and his love for Christ and the Church, we have the assurance that you are only mourning your loss.  Otherwise you are rejoicing and full of thanksgiving for a life well lived and full of love for the saints and for his precious family.  He was a righteous man; a gracious man who shepherded the sheep and the lambs in obedience to  His Father.  He also became a strong Warrior against God's enemy and a real covering to the church  in Atlanta and to all of the churches that his Lord and Master put under his care.  We  are all blessed and thankful to the great Shepherd of the sheep and Savior of our souls for such an obedient slave.  Hallelujah!

Listening to the testimonies of the brothers concerning brother Dave caused me to see that my husband and I have been blessed to have been able to grow up in the Church in Atlanta.

When I was young, I had the privilege to visit and have a meal with Brother Dave and Sister Renee as I had tagged along with my parents. Even Brother Ron K. was there. I was very shy and don’t remember what we ate or spoke about but I will always remember having been in their home.

Brother Dave always said hello to me whenever he saw me at a meeting.

My husband mentioned to me a time when he was able to have an appointment with brother Dave while he was in the FTTA. He asked him how he was doing and my husband could tell that he genuinely cared about how he was doing.

We are so thankful to have had an elder that cared and prayed for so many of us and was so clear and steadfast in knowing the Truth.

DAVID and Renee were loving shepherds to us single sisters in Atlanta. Even without his dark black hair I recognized him before reading. And, to my SURPRIZE remembered Renee's name. It was 50 years ago I had the pleasure of knowing them. The Lord is gathering His overcomers and preparing His bride. May we not bring shame to so many ones who tirelessly and faithfully walked as patterns before us, with us, and among us. They poured out as drink offerings their very souls fir our sakes. Surely brother David is a mong t he cloud of witnesses cheering us onward.  (Dave is my brother in the Lord).
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. We will miss our dear brother Dave. He was a faithful shepherding one that was a protective umbrella during any storm and a pattern for all the believers. Thank you for your service with him to us all.

So missing my big brother!  But, grateful to God for giving me such a listening and caring brother, a man of God, a pattern to me and my family.  I miss his visits to California and our visits to the Atlanta house on Shallowford.  Truly, it always felt like coming home to be there.  He will be missed, but by faith, we know we will see him again.  "Whether we live or die, we are the Lord's!"  I rejoiced to hear that this quote from Romans 14:8 was in his heart and spoken by him during his last days with us. Thank You Lord for my brother Dave!
