Dave's obituary
Dave was born on November 16, 1952 in Hammond, IN to Benjamin and Bernice Kaczmarczyk. He attended George Washington High School and had a love for cars since a very early age. Dave met Judy Maciejewski in 1973 and on their first date he did a burnout in his car to impress Judy. It was love at first site and they wed on September 21, 1974. Together they raised their loving son Daniel. Dave became a mechanic for the Calumet City Police Department and retired in 2008.
Dave had a passion for anything with a motor and you could always find him at a race track racing one of his cars. He raced stock cars, four by fours and most dear to his heart drag racing. Dave was a master model car builder and was also a social butterfly making quick friends with everyone he met and was always willing to help out his fellow racer. He had very strong opinions and was not afraid of letting you know of them. Dave always had a great sense of humor and enjoyed to laugh. He will truly be missed by all who knew him!
Dave is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Tommy, Margaret and Janet.
He is survived by Judy his loving wife of 47 years; their son Daniel; brother Bill (Patty); sister-in-law Kris; brother-in-law Richard; cherished grandchildren Sarah, Elizabeth, and Steven; many nieces / nephews and tons of friends.
A memorial celebration will be held at a later date at the race track.
