Dave's obituary

In Loving Memory of Dave Durrant

January 10th, 1950 – June 26th, 2023

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Dad and Papa, who left this world peacefully on Monday, June 26th, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving family, who held him close as he was welcomed home.

He was born on January 10th, 1950, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Phillip and Leila Durrant. He was a cherished brother to Bob (Nicole), Phil (Linda), Judy (Art), and Jerry (Tracy). He was a devoted husband to our mom Judy, who we lost in 1992. He was a loving father to Jeffrey, Sara (Chris), Tammy (Adam), and Matt, and a doting Papa to his 7 grandchildren, Evan, Abby, Selah, Ellie, Gracie, Sophie, and Cooper, and grand-puppies Luna, Sam, and Tucker. His presence in our lives brought immeasurable joy, and his departure has left an irreplaceable void.

Throughout his life, our Dad touched the hearts of all who knew him. He possessed an unwavering spirit, unparalleled creativity, and genuine kindness that radiated wherever he went. He was known for his compassionate nature and exuberant generosity, always finding the most joy in giving to others.

For 46 years, our Dad excelled in his chosen profession as a teacher, leaving a lasting impression on his colleagues and past students. His dedication, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to excellence served as an inspiration to all who worked alongside him.

Above all else, our Dad's greatest joy was his family. He taught us the importance of resilience, compassion, and sacrificial love. Whether it was through simple acts of kindness, offering a listening ear, or going the extra mile to help, he consistently demonstrated the power of love. Through his example, we learned what it means to lead a truly meaningful life.

Our family will be remembering our Dad in a small private ceremony. We appreciate the outpouring of love and support we’ve all received.

We will love you today and always. xo
