Da'Tayven's obituary

                                                                                              “Fat Dad”

Da’Tayven “JR” Thornton, a son, a brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and so much more, unexpectedly passed away and gained his tiny angel wings, May 29th, 2024.

Jr. is survived by his parents DT and Iesha Thornton, his 3 Older sisters, D’Miyah, D’Neyia and I’Yona, and his twin brother I’Zayah Thornton. Also, his Grandma’s Shannees Hines and Elaine Henry, Great Grandmother Muriel Thornton. He is predeceased by his oldest sister Faith, Grandfather Darrin Thornton, Great Grandmother Myona Henry, Great Great Grandmother Mama Gwen Thornton and his Great  Grandfather's Curvin Henry and Great Great Grandfather James Hines.

Jr. was born on January 30th, 2024. Jr. Spent the first 3 and half months of his life in Peoria, Illinois Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Jr. was loved by every Nurse and Doctor that came his way. Born weighing 1 pound 5 ounces, Jr. instantly became a fighter. He overcame every obstacle thrown his way and graduated every wing on the NICU. Jr. was discharged and came home to his family on May 11th, 2024. He was loved by his parents and even more by his sisters. Jr would love to snuggle, love hugs and kisses and most importantly love to be around family.

With humble acceptance of God's will, Jr. went home to rest with his personal Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Jr. will always be remembered for the joy he brought to this family. When the possible seemed impossible, Jr. showed us that God will make a way! The Lord has you in his hands Jr. but you will forever be in our Hearts.

Rest Easy our son,

Love Mommy and Daddy!

A Funeral Visitation is scheduled for 10:30 am on Tuesday, June 4th at East Lawns Memorial Services at 1102 Airport Road, Bloomington, IL.

DT and Iesha would like to thank everyone for the calls, messages, donations, flowers, meals and the abundance of support that everyone has shown. We love and appreciate you all!
