Darrell McQuade, 48, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, after a courageous four-year battle with cancer, surrounded by family and friends.

Born and raised in San Antonio, Darrell dedicated his life to helping others through his work as an audiologist. He was known not only for his professional skill and care but for his kindness, humor, and ability to connect deeply with those around him.

Darrell’s greatest joy in life was his family. He was a devoted husband to Amanda McQuade and a proud, loving father to Harper, Lillian, and Noah Spears. Whether he was cheering from the sidelines at his kids' games, building Legos with them, or sharing his love of sneakers, sports jerseys, and all things Kansas City Chiefs and Texas Tech, Darrell embraced fatherhood with his whole heart.

A passionate runner and lifelong sports fan, Darrell brought energy, resilience, and warmth to every part of his life. His strength throughout his illness was nothing short of inspiring, a testament to his unwavering spirit and deep love for his family.

Darrell is survived by his wife Amanda; his children Harper, Lillian, and Noah; and countless friends, colleagues, and extended family who were touched by his life.

A celebration of Darrell’s life will be held where friends and loved ones will gather to honor a remarkable man whose legacy will live on in the lives he touched.
